CBE Alumnus Matey YORDANOV and Francis SO's Foodtech Startup Crowned Champion at HKSEC 2024-2025

In a remarkable display of social innovation and entrepreneurial spirit supported by the HKSAR government, a local foodtech startup founded by our alumnus was crowned the Champion among more than 580 young people from various tertiary institutions at the Grand Final of the Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC) 2024-2025. This achievement highlights their commitment to sustainability and reducing food waste through innovative food solutions.

Transforming Surplus into Opportunity

Guided by CBE's professor, Marshal LIU, a local foodtech startup was founded by our Alumnus, Matey YORDANOV and Francis SO. It is committed to transforming surplus produce and food manufacturing byproducts into high-value, functional food products.

Innovative Technology for a Sustainable Future

Leveraging advanced freeze-drying technology, the foodtech startup' smoothies help reduce food waste in the supply chain while extending shelf life. With a well-established distribution network across Hong Kong and Macau, their products are available in retail shops, restaurants, cafés, and fitness centers. Additionally, with support from the Hong Kong Housing Authority, they have launched a retail concept at Domain Mall in Yau Tong, further strengthening community engagement.
