CBE Portal site Achieves Gold and Elderly-Friendly Awards in Digital Accessibility Recognition Scheme

We are proud to announce that our CBE Portal site (https://cbe.hkust.edu.hk/) has been honored with both a Gold Award and an Elderly-Friendly Award in the Digital Accessibility Recognition Scheme (數碼無障礙嘉許計畫) for 2024-2025. This prestigious recognition is organized by the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited and supported by the Digital Policy Office and the Equal Opportunities Commission. The awards presentation ceremony is set for May 19, 2025, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Digital Accessibility Recognition Scheme aims to promote digital inclusion, encouraging organizations to enhance the user-friendliness and accessibility of their websites. Our department has made significant efforts to ensure that our site is accessible to all users, improving their experience and increasing our visibility online.

In recognition of our achievements, our department's logo will be featured in an upcoming newspaper advertorial, and a gold award and an elderly-friendly award stamp will be placed at the footer of our CBE Portal, showcasing our commitment to digital accessibility.

As the leading institution in Hong Kong dedicated to cultivating talent in energy and environmental engineering, chemical engineering, and bioengineering, we are committed to making information about our field easily accessible to everyone. Our website enhancements reflect our dedication to fostering a caring, inclusive society and promoting the concept of inclusion.

We encourage everyone to explore our CBE Portal and experience our commitment to digital accessibility firsthand. Together, let’s continue to foster an inclusive environment for all.
