Promotion of Prof. King Lun YEUNG to Chair Professor
We are thrilled to announce that Prof. King Lun YEUNG has been awarded the Chair Professor Title, effective July 1, 2025. This promotion reflects his significant contributions to the field, including groundbreaking technical advancements, successful grant acquisitions, and exceptional leadership within the department.
In addition to this honor, Prof. Yeung has recently secured a GTF project focusing on Carbon-Negative, Green, Circular Technology aimed at the interception and revalorization of FOG waste from the catering industry. His innovative research has also been recognized and funded by the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF), HKSAR, in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prof. Yeung’s dedication to community service was acknowledged when he received the 2020 Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service. Furthermore, he was honored at the 3rd HKUST Faculty Recognition Ceremony for his outstanding contributions to the university.
Notably, since 2018, teams led by Prof. Yeung have achieved remarkable success at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, winning four Gold and four Silver Medals.
