Yuanyuan (Alvin) ZHOU joined HKUST as an Associate Professor (with Tenure) under the university’s prestigious "30 for 30" global talent acquisition scheme. He obtained his B.S. from Xi’an Jiaotong University and Ph.D. from Brown University. He has authored over 120 journal publications with 13,000 Google citations and 58 H-index. He has received top honors continuously throughout his research career, including Brown University Outstanding Engineering Thesis Award, HKBU Presidential Young Research Award, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Excellent Young Scientist Award, and HKUST Star Faculty. He serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Energy Chemistry (IF=14; Elsevier) and Advisory Board Member for Device (Cell Press). Prof. Zhou’s research group ΣLab leverages fundamental innovations to transform semiconductor science and technologies, focusing on three areas of research: (1) microstructure of perovskite materials/devices; (2) multi-modal characterizations; (3) experimental AI & data (ΣxAID) enabled materials exploration. ΣLab's recent publications feature 1 in Science and 2 in Nature Energy.
