Prof. Hnin Y. Y. NYEIN recognized as the Sensors & Diagnostics Emerging Investigators 2023
Prof. Hnin Y. Y. NYEIN, an Assistant Professor of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at HKUST, was recognized as the Sensors & Diagnostics Emerging Investigators 2023 for significant contribution to sensors and medical diagnostics.
In recognition of the honor, Prof. Nyein contributed a critical review titled “Dermal-fluid-enabled detection platforms for non-invasive ambulatory monitoring” in the Sensors & Diagnostics Emerging Investigators themed collection. This review highlights important biomarkers in dermal fluids, i.e. sweat and interstitial fluid based on their clinical relevance. The article clearly outlines the challenges on the wearable molecular sensing technology development and provides an outlook on dermal fluids-based molecular sensors in critical health concerns and drug therapy for remote ambulatory monitoring.
Sensors & Diagnostics from the Royal Society of Chemistry presented this special collection of invited contributions from early career researchers who are making significant contributions to the sensors & diagnostic fields.
