Job Shadowing Opportunities for HKUST CBE Students at ExxonMobil

HKUST students from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) were offered job shadowing opportunity at ExxonMobil, Tsing Yi Terminal, on 2 Dec 2022. To help explore career choices with more exposures, there were approximately 10 mentors from ExxonMobil to lead 19 students to gain hands-on knowledge and experience in the workplace. Students also had the chance to learn about the prospects of the energy industry, its job variety, and opportunities from the mentors.

Being one of the largest publicly traded international energy companies, ExxonMobil uses technology and innovation to help meet the world's growing energy needs. In Hong Kong, it is one of the leading petroleum, lubricant, and petrochemical marketers who is dedicated to youth development. As expressed by Exxon’s Hong Kong Fuels Operations Manager Mr. Keith Leung, “ExxonMobil Hong Kong is committed to promoting youth development, and we are pleased to provide the students with the job shadowing opportunity at the terminal. We hope the students have gained a better understanding of the energy industry and obtained a wider perspective of career choices.”
